Children’s Miracle Network

Every year I look forward to when we run a Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Donation Campaign in the stores. It gives me great joy to not only raise money for sick children in need, but to spread awareness of how this organization truly does help sick children. Ace Hardware has been working with Children’s Miracle Network since 1991, raising more than $54 million dollars for our local children’s hospitals (including Arnold Palmer Hospital and Shands Children’s Hospital). This year I’m working mostly at a desk so I thought I might share a few of these wonderful children’s stories with you all in the hopes of furthering Children’s Miracle Network’s compassionate work.

This year’s Ace Hardware All-Star is Parker, Age 6. Born with hydrocephalus, an excessive amount of fluid in the brain causing his head to be more than double the normal size at birth, Parker has made amazing improvements with help from the Children’s Miracle Network – becoming a vibrant young boy that is now one of the ambassadors for CMN and Ace Hardware. I also have a great story about Owen, who was born with a congenital heart defect at Shands Children’s Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.  He’s now a happy, and very talkative, one-year-old thanks to Children’s Miracle Network and the contributions raised at Ace Hardware store’s in Central Florida!
